What Bounty Go is

Bounty Go is a live map of lost pets and missing things. Someone who has lost a dog, a cat, a bike or a set of keys publishes a listing with a reward they are offering. People nearby see it on the map, report a sighting if they spot something, and arrange a handover in the app using a one time code.

The reward is agreed and paid directly between the two people involved. Bounty Go never holds the money and never takes a percentage of it. Posting a listing is free, and nothing is sold in the app.

Getting help

Write to [email protected].

A person reads every message. We answer within two business days, and usually sooner. Reports about safety, harassment or objectionable content jump the queue and are acted on within 24 hours.

Including these makes an answer much faster:

  • The handle on your account, the one starting with an at sign in your profile.
  • Your phone model and its operating system version. The app does not show its own version number yet, so tell us roughly when you installed or last updated it instead.
  • The listing, message or person involved, by link or screenshot.
  • What you expected to happen, and what happened instead.

Reporting a listing, a message or a person

Every listing, message, sighting and profile in the app carries a report control. Open the item, choose Report, pick the reason, and add anything that helps. You can block someone from the same menu, which hides them from you immediately and stops them contacting you, without waiting for anyone to review anything.

If you cannot reach the in-app control, or the account has already gone, email [email protected] with a screenshot and the handle.

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Reports are reviewed and acted on within 24 hours: the content comes down, the account is suspended or banned, or both. Where something has to go to the authorities, it goes to the authorities. The rules themselves are in the Terms of Service.

Bounty Go is not an emergency service. If a person or an animal is in immediate danger, call the emergency number where you are, first.

Things people ask

Somebody has not paid a reward they offered

Tell us, with the listing and the handle. Because a reward never passes through Bounty Go, we cannot make anyone pay and we cannot reimburse you. What we can do is investigate, remove the listing, and suspend or ban an account that offers rewards it does not intend to pay. That history follows the account.

My listing will not publish

Posting is free, so there is nothing to buy first. You can have two listings live at a time: resolve or remove one to make room for the next. There is also a limit on how many listings one account can publish in a day, which keeps the map clear of spam; if you reach it, try again the next day. If neither is the reason, email us with your handle and what the app said.

How long does a listing stay up

Thirty days from publishing. The app reminds you before it ends, and you can extend it from the listing. Resolve it as soon as what you lost is back, so nobody keeps looking.

I still pay for the subscription

Earlier versions of the app sold a monthly subscription that kept your listings on the map. It is no longer sold and no longer needed: your listings stay up whether or not it is active. To stop paying, cancel it with the store, not with us. Open Subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings, find Bounty Go, and cancel. Deleting your Bounty Go account does not cancel the subscription, so do this yourself before or after deleting, or the store will keep charging you.

I want a refund for the subscription or a boost

Purchases were made through Apple's App Store or Google Play, and those stores handle refunds under their own policies. Request one through Apple's Report a Problem page, or through Google Play's order history. We cannot issue a store refund from our side. Write to us anyway if something did not work, because a fault at our end is worth knowing about.

The runner and its weekly board

The runner is the small game on your profile. Every score is checked by our server, which replays the run, and the weekly board starts again each Sunday at midnight, Israel time. Other players see your rank and score; they see your handle only if you chose to show it, which you can change in the game at any time. The game awards nothing and has no link to money, rewards or your listings. If a score on the board looks like it was not played by a person, tell us.

I forgot my password

If you registered with an email address and a password, tap “Forgot your password?” on the sign-in screen. We email a six-digit code to the address; enter it with a new password and you are signed in, while every device that used the old password is signed out. An account made with an earlier version of the app gets a code only once its address has been confirmed (Settings, while you are signed in); until then the email says so instead, and support can help. No code arriving? Check spam, then write to [email protected] from the address on the account. If you signed in with Apple or Google there is no Bounty Go password to forget: use that provider's own recovery.

Does the app send notifications

On iOS, yes, once you allow it. The app asks your permission the first time it has something worth telling you, after you publish a listing or report a sighting, or when you turn notifications on in Settings. It sends sightings on your listings, claim and handover steps, messages, changes to your own listings and safety decisions about your account. Nearby-missing alerts are listed in the app but deliver nothing yet, because the app keeps no record of where you are to match them against. To turn notifications off, or to pick which kinds you get, open Settings, then Notifications, in the app, or switch them off for Bounty Go in your phone's settings. On Android this version sends no push notifications.

Who can see where I am

Nobody. Your live position is never returned to another user. A listing's pin is deliberately offset from the true last-seen point by 80 to 250 metres, and only the owner of a listing sees the real one. The full explanation is in the Privacy Policy.

How do I delete my account

In the app: Settings, then Delete account. Or by email, and either way the Delete your account page explains exactly what is erased, what is kept, and how long it takes.

Something in the app is broken

Send us the four things in the list above. Screenshots help more than descriptions. If the app is crashing, tell us what you were doing in the seconds before.
